Thank you for your interest in the OceanAir CDFI Advisory Board!

OceanAir Federal Credit Union is committed to strengthening financial inclusion across low income areas throughout Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Kern County. To ensure our products, services, and strategies reflect the needs of the communities we serve, we’re inviting local leaders and residents to join our new Community Development Advisory Board.

What is a CDFI?

Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) are mission-driven financial institutions (like OceanAir Federal Credit Union) that provide affordable lending and financial services in communities that are underserved. Their goal is to expand access to credit, capital, and financial services to help individuals, small businesses, and communities thrive.

What is a CDFI Advisory Board?

A CDFI Advisory Board is made up of community representatives who provide input, feedback, and guidance to ensure the CDFI stays aligned with local needs. The board helps identify barriers to financial access, advises on products and services that would best serve low-income or underserved populations, and ensures community voices are included in the institution’s planning and decision-making.

What is the commitment?

Board members meet quarterly, offering insights that help shape financial services to better serve local families and businesses. The board will meet just four times a year, but the impact will last for years to come. Your insight can help shape programs and services that truly make a difference for your neighbors.

Who should consider applying?
