Dear OceanAir Members,

As we step into the second quarter of the year, I want to take a moment to thank you for being an essential part of the OceanAir Federal Credit Union family. Your continued trust and support inspire everything we do.

The first quarter brought exciting momentum, and Q2 promises even more progress. Behind the scenes, our team has been working hard to enhance your digital experience, streamline our services, and introduce new financial tools designed to make managing your money even easier. Whether you’re saving for the future, buying your first home, or simply looking for better ways to budget, we’re here to help you reach your goals. We’re especially excited about a few upcoming initiatives and promotions.

In Q2 of 2025, we are dedicated to supporting our community’s recovery efforts. By donating to the Ventura County Community Foundation through our “Pennies With A Purpose” initiative, you will be aiding Ventura County residents impacted by the Mountain Fire with emergency housing, financial assistance, and veterinary care.

Until April 30th, 2025, OceanAir will match all donations made to the Ventura County Community Foundation through “Pennies With A Purpose” up to $3,000. This means your contribution will have twice the impact.

Board of Directors Announcement

The deadline for receiving member applications for nomination consideration to the OceanAir Board of Directors closed on February 15, 2025. The Nominating Committee has determined that the following candidate is qualified and eligible for installation to the Board of Directors: Hal Karam. Since there is a qualified candidate to fill each Board vacancy for the upcoming term, no nominations from the floor will be permitted during the Annual Meeting.

However, if a member wishes to be considered at this time, a Petition must be submitted to the Credit Union. The deadline for receipt of a Petition for consideration as an additional Director Nominee is May 1, 2025. Please contact a member of the Nominating Committee via email at [email protected] for more information, including Petition requirements.

If there are no additional qualified candidates from the Petition process, there will not be an election, and the Slate of Candidates as stated above will be installed by general consent at the Annual Member Meeting scheduled for June 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM in the Oxnard Office on the 2^nd floor.

Community Impact

In partnership with the Mexican Consulate of Oxnard, OceanAir, Premier America, and Ventura County Credit Union proudly support the Financial Advisory Window, known as Ventanilla Asesoria Financiera. This initiative provides essential financial education and resources to all visitors and Hispanic communities. 

In February, we celebrated the graduation of a cohort of women from the Mexicana Emprende program offered by the Mexican Consulate of Oxnard. This program empowers aspiring entrepreneurs by offering classes focused on financial education and resources for starting a small business. OceanAir generously sponsored five graduates, awarding each $500 to help kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.
