Beware of QR Code Package Scams

Dear OceanAir Member,

We want to alert you to a new scam targeting consumers through unexpected packages and deceptive QR codes. This scam has been reported across the country and poses a serious risk to your personal information and device security.

🚨 What’s Happening?

You may receive a package in the mail that you didn’t order. It contains an item of little or no value and lacks any return address or sender information. However, it features a QR code printed on the box.

This is not a gift—it’s a trap. Cybercriminals are hoping you’ll scan the QR code to find out who sent the package. If you do, you may be directed to a fake website that asks for personal information or silently installs malware on your device.
